About

Kids Helping Kids is a 501(c)3 and was founded in the summer of 2009 by Lexi Kelley and her mom, Jennifer. The idea to start KHK came from the small act of kindness that Lexi experienced while recuperating from a bad car accident when she was 12. Lexi wanted to start KHK to give other kids her age the opportunity to feel the impact, joy and reward of helping others.  As the team of volunteers as matured, KHK has also matured. Our mission is to create leaders through youth-led service projects.  All service programs and events are inspired by, designed by and led by youth.  Membership is free and open to all middle and high school students anywhere. Members can volunteer in as many projects as they would like to as well as we offer free coaching and help if a student is interested in designing their own project.  Grants are also available for students who need funding to get their project jump started.

Today, Kids Helping Kids is a way to proactively get middle and high school kids involved in community service projects. It offers a way for the youth to learn how to ignite an idea and follow it through with a project and possibly even obtaining a grant. KHK  partners with local schools in the Fairfield County area to expose children to numerous organizations and needs locally and globally. Kids Helping Kids is a recognized Kids Care Club.
