Masks for Friends
During COVID-19 many states are requiring individuals to wear personal protective equipment when out in public. However, not every household has access to such equipment or the financial resources to construct it themselves. Join our community as we work together to make masks for those in need!
An Executive Order issued by Connecticut's Governor, Ned Lamont, mandates that all persons must wear a face mask while out in public at locations where social distancing is not possible. Obtaining a mask requires having either access to the product itself or the financial resources to create one. Unfortunately, this is not possible for every family or individual during these trying times- that's where we come in!
KHK is stepping up to help provide our neighbors with access to such a necessary resource. We are asking you to join us in creating face masks for those in need in our local communities. Masks will be donated to Inspirica, the transitional living shelter in Stamford.
Below we have included instructions for making both sew and no-sew options. We ask that you please wash your fabric before creating your masks and that you individually wrap each one upon completion (this can be done with a sandwich bag).
Do you want to help others during this unprecedented time?
Once masks are completed please mail them to the address below and KHK staff will prep them for hand delivery to Inspirica. Please photograph your creations and email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can share your pictures to social media! We can't wait to see your labors of love and help get them to those who need them most.
