Smiles for School
“Smiles For School” is a Kids Helping Kids project for elementary-aged students entering grades 1-5 who would like to help assemble back to school backpacks and school supplies for students at The Carver Center in Norwalk, CT.
Project History
This is a project that was started by a 1st grader, Conor, who wanted to help other kids that could not get their own school supplies. Our team will work hard to personalize special items for back to school and then fill backpacks with all the needed school supplies for elementary-aged kids who qualify for free or reduced lunch.

What The Project Will Look Like...
We have purchased most of the necessary supplies for this year's project but encourage our young volunteers to go shopping for some of the remaining supplies (see list below). Then, on July 23rd, join us to customize pencil cases, pack new book bags with supplies, and spread cheer about the upcoming school year! We will also talk about how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in our world.
Anyone new to our program will get a brief orientation to Kids Helping Kids and then we will begin our project. Please bring either of the suggested items, any contribution is appreciated. Make it fun and go shop with your child as the kids we are giving them to do not have that luxury!
