Sports Day is the best: It’s about our volunteers coming together to share with younger kids the sports that they love! Initially, this idea was born from a love of sports. Billy and Jack Schulz wanted to share the fun and joy of playing sports with kids that might not have the same opportunities to play that they have experienced. Their first event was in November 2014.  Since then we have had many other KHK ambassadors lead this project!  A sports day project can include a lesson around any sport such as martial arts, dodgeball, basketball, soccer and jump rope!

Today, two ambassadors from Darien High School, Johan and Reilly, lead this project.  They are really passionate about the sport of soccer and have been playing it for several years.  They call the project Kick it with Kids. Not only do they love to share their love for the sport, but they appreciate that they are developing their leadership skills as well. Throughout the school year, they will be running soccer drills and playing lots of fun soccer games with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club.

Is there a particular sport that you love? Would you consider launching a project around it? We would love to hear about it! Share your ideas with us and we’ll take care of the rest! Spark-a-project with KHK!
