Sports Day is the best: Kids coming together to share with younger kids the sports that they love! We have had over 22 Sports Day with KHK volunteers and hundreds of Boys and Girls Club members! Sports days in the past have centered around martial arts, dodgeball, basketball, soccer and jump rope, among other activities! It is always an afternoon filled with fun games to play.
Initially, this idea was born from a love of sports. Billy and Jack Schulz wanted to share the fun and joy of playing sports with kids that might not have the same opportunities to play that they have experienced. Their first event was in November 2014. Since then we have had many other KHK ambassadors lead this project!
Three ambassadors from Darien High School, Johan, Connor, and Reilly, have been leading this project for the past year. They are really passionate about the sport of soccer and have been playing for several years. Not only do they love to share their love for the sport, but they appreciate that they are developing their leadership skills. Throughout the year, they will be running soccer drills and playing lots of fun soccer games with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club.
